We believe that:
The Holy Bible was written by men who were divinely inspired by God. It is the only true, trustworthy, and authoritative Word of God for instruction in salvation, conduct of the church and Christian living (2 Timothy 3:15-17). There is one and only one living and true God who created all things. He is all knowing and all powerful and everywhere present at any time. We owe the highest love, reverence, and obedience to Him alone. (Genesis 1:1). Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. In His incarnation He was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, and perfectly revealed the will of God. He was without sin. In His death on the cross He made provision for the redemption of men from sin. He was buried and rose from the dead with a glorified body. He ascended into heaven at the right hand of God where He is mediating for all men. He will return in power and glory to judge the world. All those who believe in Him shall be saved (John 3:16). The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God. He inspires men to understand the truth and live godly lives. He convicts people of sin and judgment (Acts 1:8). Salvation is freely offered to all who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Salvation was obtained by the blood of Jesus Christ for eternal redemption for the believer (James 2:14-26). A New Testament church is a local congregation of believers, associated by their common belief in Jesus Christs (Hebrews 11:39-40). Christian baptism is by immersion of a believer in water in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Baptism is the believers' witness to the world that he/she is the follower of Jesus Christ. It is also an act of obedience and faith in a crucified, buried, and risen Savior and belief in the final resurrection of the dead. The Lord’s Supper is symbolic and also an act of obedience whereby the believer, through partaking of the bread and wine, memorializes the death of Jesus Christ and anticipates His second coming (1 Corinthians 10:16, 21; 11:23-29 and Colossians 2:12). All believers should endeavor to make disciples of all nations by reaching out and inviting others into the Kingdom of God (Matthew 9:37-39). |
